Topic 12: Farming training & advisory
Across the world, farmers face the challenge of producing more food while navigating changing market conditions, resource constraints and sustainability requirements. De Heus supports livestock and aquaculture farmers through practical training, technical expertise and on-farm advisory services. By helping farmers optimise their farm businesses and strengthen their skills and capabilities, we enable them to improve animal health, farm performance and operational efficiency. As a result, farmers can build more resilient and profitable businesses, strengthen their position in the value chain and contribute to resilient food systems. Farmer training and advisory are not additional services, they are an integral part of how we create sustainable value and advance our customers.
Green goal
In 2030 De Heus Animal Nutrition’s farmer training programs will have benefited 250.000 farming participants to build knowledge and capacity on important topics in our farmer training programs such as professional farm management, nutrition, reduction of antibiotics, animal welfare, biosecurity, biodiversity, global gap certification and reduction of carbon footprint in farming activities.
